However, it will also function properly when used in systems that have been seeded with conditioned biological filter media from another, established pond, or when used with bacterial and enzyme additives. Provides a protective colloid coating for fishesâ?? skin and scales. New Pond ulilizes a tertiary (three-part) synthetic polymer formula that provides fishes with a protective â??slime coatingâ? that protects damaged areas on a new pondâ??s first residents. This synthetic â??bandaging effectâ? of the New Pond provides a barrier against serious loss of internal fluids and electrolytes and protects damaged areas of the body against external toxins and disease-causing organisms.
