HQI, Pulse Start or electronic ballast is required for this bulb.

For the price rang nothing compares to it. I for one don't find it to blue or to white. running same type 2yrs now.

Nice bulb and at a great price from custom aquatic (as usual). The biggest drawback - the blue look just isnt very natural.
